Advanced Technology

As our office has grown over the years, we have made sure to keep up with some of the latest advances in dental technology.

While we don't go as far as practicing "Experimental" dentistry, we make sure to implement new and innovative techniques and devices in order to streamline your care and provide you with the best results possible.

Here are a few examples:

Digital X-Rays

In order to reduce the amount of time that you as a patient spend in the dental chair and to improve the diagnosis of dental problems, we utilize a Digital X-Ray system in our office.  We use Schick Digital Radiography to provide instant imaging of your teeth.

You will be amazed by the quickness of the x-ray process compared to the traditional paper film methods.  You will also become more informed about your dental situation because we can clearly show you on a large computer screen any problems we see with your teeth and surrounding jaw structures.

Whats more, our digital x-ray sensors are nearly 10 times more sensitive than traditional film so we are able to use about 1/10th of the radiation needed to produce a similar image using traditional methods.

Optical Impressions

When making a crown (also known as a cap) for a damaged tooth there are a number of different steps.  One of the most important steps is to make an impression of your tooth in order to show the dental laboratory its exact size, shape, and position.

Traditionally dentists have used a putty-like material that hardens into a firm rubber in about 4 minutes while in your mouth.  Often, patients experienced discomfort due to the bulky tray needed to carry the material or by having the material run down their throat, causing a gag reflex.  What's more is this impression process is a some what inexact science and the process occasionally had to be repeated multiple times.

We have found an alternative to the traditional invasive method explained above.  The alternative is the iTtero Digital Impression System.  This system works by taking multiple pictures of your tooth from various angles using a small digital camera.  This process creates an extremely accurate digital model of your teeth, completely eliminating the uncomfortable tray and putty impression. What’s more, iTero technology all but guarantees a perfect fit for your new crown or bridge, so you spend less time at the dentist’s office and more time enjoying your new smile.

Rotary Endodontics

The most dreaded two words any patiient can hear in a dental office used to be "Root Canal". A traditional root canal in the past often took three 1 hour appointments spaced about a week apart, and patients were usually left in a state of pain between those appointments.  This long drawn out process was needed in order to properly clean, sterilize, and fill the tooth because the equipment that was used needed la ong time frame to reliably kill off the bacteria that had infected the tooth.

Today there is an alternative.  The alternative is known at Rotary Endodontics, and the best system on the market, The Tulsa Dentsply GT® Series X™ Endo System, is used in our office.

This system eliminates the need for a long, painful, layover between the steps of root canal therapy.  In one visit, we can reliably mesure your tooth, clean the entire root canal, and fill the canal to the tip to ensure that your tooth is sealed as well as possible.

The seamless nature of this system allows for the duration of post-operative pain to be reduced from days or weeks to mere hours or eliminate discomfort altogether in many cases.  If by some chance you are unlucky enough to need root canal therapy on your tooth, take comfort in knowing that we have taken every step possible to make your experience as painless as possible.
